Complete Genome Sequence of a Novel Genotype of Squash Mosaic Virus Infecting Squash in Spain

چکیده
The complete genome sequence of a new isolate of squash mosaic virus (SqMV) infecting squash plants in Spain was obtained using deep sequencing of small RNAs. The low nucleotide sequence identities, with only 87 to 88% for RNA1 and 84 to 86% for RNA2 to known SqMV isolates, suggested that this isolate belongs to a novel genotype.

Complete Genome Sequence of an Emerging Genotype of Tobacco Streak Virus in the United States
We report here the complete genome sequence of an emerging genotype of tobacco streak virus (TSV) infecting zucchini squash in Florida (TSV_FL13-07), obtained using deep sequencing of short RNAs (sRNAs) and validation by Sanger sequencing. TSV_FL13-07 shares only <90% sequence identity in all three genomic RNAs to several known U.S. isolates.
متن کاملTwo Complete Genome Sequences of Squash mosaic virus from 20-Year-Old Cucurbit Leaf Samples from Australia
We present the first complete Australian Squash mosaic virus (SqMV) genome sequences. We compared the 2 Australian genomes from 20-year-old cucurbit samples with 8 other SqMV genomes. The Australian genomes shared >99.0% nucleotide identities, and their RNA1 and RNA2 sequences most closely resembled isolates Y and Kimbe from Japan, respectively.
متن کاملDegenerate Primers Facilitate the Detection and Identification of Potyviruses From the Northwest Region of Iran
Background: Potyviruses are accounted for 40% of viral diseases of various crops including vegetables and legumes. Potyviruses can be transmitted through plant sap, seeds and many aphid species. Due to ease of spread of these viruses detection of such viruses are crucial as to the control of the incited diseases. Objectives: This study compared the efficiencies of two couples of primers in the...

The complete genome sequence of a Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV) isolate from South Korea (SK) infecting squash (Cucurbita pepo) was obtained using paired-end RNA sequencing. A BLASTn search of the PRSV SK isolate full-genome sequence showed nucleotide sequence identity ranging from 81% to 83% with previously reported PRSV isolates (GenBank accession numbers KX655874 and EF017707).

Leaf samples of Solanum lycopersicum, Capsicum annuum, Cucurbita moschata, Cucurbita pepo, Sechium edule and Erythrina spp. were collected. All samples were positive for begomoviruses using polymerase chain reaction and degenerate primers. A sequence of ∼1,100 bp was obtained from the genomic component DNA-A of 14 samples. In addition, one sequence of ∼580 bp corresponding to the coat protein (...
